Food is one of the significant component of one’s life, what goes inside our body, is reflected in your physical and mental health, which makes eating right amount of food, in a correct way and at a right time even more pertinent. 

There is less awareness regarding food habits, because of the changes in the civilization from agrarian to industrial. Our eating habits also have evolved with the course of time. With the the fast pacing lifestyle, we sideline the eating habits which we have adopted.

Here are the things which you are doing wrong to your body while having food and after. 

1.DRINKING IN BETWEEN MEAL OR AFTER

Researchers  have argued that drinking in between meal or after, hampers individual’s digestive system, it causes a surge in insulin level, the higher rate of insulin level which is released in your blood stream results into higher chances of one storing fat. You can avoid this eating habit by not having too salty or too spicy food, because these type of food will increase the thirst of drinking water. Gulping little amount of water, does not do any harm but drinking a glass or so creates problem. The best way to drink water is when you feel thirsty, after 2 hours of your meal or before it, because it helps in absorption of nutrients. 

2.TALKING WHILE HAVING FOOD OR WATCHING TV, USING PHONE :

While talking or watching TV, one is not able to concentrate on food and brain is not able to send signals, which result in overeating and while you talk, you don’t chew your food properly leading to digestive problems. Watching TV or phone doesn’t help in reducing calories rather it slower the metabolic rate. And the level of satisfaction while having food also get blocks. It’s best to sit down and enjoy your meal with all the concentration.

3.DIRECTLY LYING DOWN AFTER HAVING FOOD

According to a study, our body is made to digest food in upright position, when we lie down after having food, it hampers the process of digestion and we face various digestive issues. The best way is to lie down after 2 or 3 hours. 

4.HAVING FRUITS AFTER MEAL

When you eat fruits after meal, your body is not able to absorb all the nutrients properly and it creates digestive problems. The best way to consume fruits is early in the morning or leave a gap of 30 mins between meal and fruits consumption. 

5.NOT CHEWING FOOD PROPERLY

While we chew food, it’s breaks down into smaller pieces, which helps in better absorption of food and digestion, but if we do it chew properly, it’s create digestive problems, bloating, gas, acid re-flux, diarrhea and irritability. According to experts the best way is to chew 32 time. 

 ENJOYING FOOD -The whole process of eating food is meditative and therapeutic. One needs to indulge into it, for healthy lifestyle and also by adopting mindful eating.
